Was it really October 2009 that the PSA announced a Major Digital Communications Initiative including a “five-year project [that] will see Perform first build a new official site for the PSA by the end of this year.”
Here are some screen captures (slide show below) of the new website.
Let’s acknowledge the PSA World Tour is a vast improvement over the existing PSASquash.com website.
But as always serious questions should be asked and answers provided, but does anyone care?
Why did the site take so long to produce?
What did it cost?
Does the length of time to produce the new website (more than 9 months after original target completion date) illustrate tangibly:
- Perform has their “B Team” on the PSA account
- ineffective management by PSA leadership to:
– negotiate initial contract
– manage the Perform relationship and hold them accountable (timelines, staffing, etc)
– multi-task and involve others in the development, management and roll-out of key initiatives.
Are Alex and Lee showing their inexperience in trying to do too much themselves and not recognizing their limitations and benefits of involving others. Note: a) the absence of any significant Tour sponsors either on PSA Squash TV or draft PSA World Tour sites b) continued delays, glitches on Squash TV
What oversight have PSA Board members conducted on the website development, PSA Squash TV?
